When

Noon – 1 p.m., Sept. 13, 2024

Join us on September 12th at 12:00pm for a zine workshop at the APASA Lounge where Artist Phung Huynh will be leading it!

Phung will also be hosting a gallary talk at the University of Arizona Museum of Art on September 12th at 5:30pm!

"Phung Huynh is a Los Angeles-based artist and educator whose work explores how cultural ideas are “imported, disassembled, and then reconstructed” within the American landscape. She works within a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, and public art. Through her work, she calls attention to the “(mis)interpretations and (re)appropriations” of Asian culture and iconography within American popular culture. Huynh is Assistant Professor in the Art Department at California State University Los Angeles. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and her Master of Fine Arts from NYU. She is committed to community engagement and social practice, completing various public art projects throughout Los Angeles County. Her work has been exhibited at the Vincent Price Art Museum, the USC Pacific Asia Museum, and the Torrance Art Museum among others."
